Painter, Photographer

Stéphane
Marchand

Stéphane Marchand is a French painter, photographer, lyricist, and writer, born in Lille in 1961.

La partition du voyageur, his first novel published in 1989 by Simone Gallimard at Mercure de France, won the Athéna Prize and was shortlisted for the Prix du Premier Roman and the Grand Prix des Lectrices de Elle. Other novels followed (Le monde du sénateur, Nos rêves indiens), as well as works in children’s literature (Un martien dans le frigo, Mille bravos pour Théo) and a thriller (Maelström, Flammarion/J’ai lu).

Having lived for the past twenty years in Touraine with his two sons, he now devotes himself to painting and photography (abstraction, portraits, architecture, street photography).

Since 1997, he has painted over 700 canvases, with a growing preference for large formats. Exhibited in France and abroad, he hones the colors of his series: those of time and seasons, of the Earth and its elements, of women, of travel, and of the roads he takes on his journeys. Each painting is an invitation to the imagination and memory of the viewer.

He also creates commissioned works for decorators, art enthusiasts, and collectors.
